What a difference 48 hours make. The first day was absolutely miserable. Despite my best efforts to avoid Ibuprofen, I ended up taking some at 11:15 pm because my annoying headache had become a migraine and I couldn’t sleep. The second day I woke with a mild headache and feeling a little dizzy/nauseous, but this seemed so mild compared to the first morning that I pushed through it. I had waves of headaches/dizziness/nausea through the day, and by 10:30 pm, I ended up taking Ibuprofen again so I could sleep. I did become irritable a couple of times during day two. Day one I was in so much pain I could barely function so I think everyone just left me alone lol.
I woke this morning feeling quite rested, which was nice. I don’t have a headache right now, and my body doesn’t feel like it’s screaming at me to give it something (food, caffeine…etc). Overall, I feel much more calm and my face is feeling soft again. These are just some things I’ve noticed this morning. I still have snot-nosed/coughing kids at my house, but I’m looking forward to this lovely Sunday. There’s a dusting of snow on the ground. I would love it if we could have a big snow storm over the next few days.
I’m encouraged by the scale moving downward. Dr. Fuhrman guarantees rapid weightloss on his plan, so far it’s ringing true. I don’t know that I’ll continue weighing daily after the first week, but right now I’m using it to remind me of one reason I’m eating this way. How am I eating? The goal is to get the most nutrients per calorie out of my food and it’s gotta be whole-food, plant-based only. After all, they are the most nutrient rich foods on the planet. That’s right, no processed stuff, not even bottled juice, oil, or salt. And of course, no meat, dairy, or eggs, but I’ve already been vegan for over two years now, so that’s not a big deal for me anymore. I’m having unlimited raw and cooked fruits and veggies. The veggie goal is to shoot for a pound of raw and a pound of cooked a day. I’m hitting the raw goal, but I don’t think I’ve hit the cooked goal yet. The fruit goal is a minimum of five servings (I’m eating more than that). I may also have beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, avocado, and some grains, but those should be limited and I’m only having them AFTER I’ve had a substantial amount of raw fruit and veggies. Be sure to read Eat to Live before attempting this. You’ll find far more detailed information in the book.
Are you wondering how much weight I’ve lost in two days? Sorry, not going to share yet. I’ll post that on Friday because I don’t consider it “official” until the weekly weigh in.
