I really want to join the Banana Girl challenge for March, but they require calorie tracking. I don’t want to be a stumbling block for anyone there, as I do understand that, for most people doing this lifestyle, calorie tracking is essential. I won’t be tracking calories though. It reminds me of dieting. I become too obsessed with the numbers and will spend more time worrying about that than listening to my body’s cues. Not only that, I tend to gradually move toward restriction when counting calories.
I’ve thought about trying it again, but I’m pretty sure I would just end up right back where I’ve ended up every time before. They say that to continue doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. For me, calorie counting is insanity. I’m glad it works for others. I’m glad most people don’t have the hang-ups that I do about it. I’m also glad that I don’t have to track calories to succeed.
