365 Raw: Day 61 with “Blizzard”

2013-02-24_14-11-29_409It’s been snowing all day (blizzard warning). In fact, we woke to several inches and elected to stay home from church this morning. I’m rather glad we did as it’s just kept piling up and the plows didn’t come through the neighborhood till quite late… pushing a foot and a half of snow to the end of our driveway.

We have some drifts in our yard that were 2-3 feet deep. We really need the precipitation… and I love snow, so I’m good with it. I just wish our vehicle was 4-wheel-drive. We did make it to the store mid-day, but it’s only about a mile and a half from our house. We did do some sliding about, but thankfully we were the only crazies on the road… and praise the Lord we didn’t get stuck. We decided not to venture out again.

The tomato soup tasted lovely on such a cold day. I ran it through the blender an extra time just to make it slightly warmer but not heating it to the point of harming the nutritional value. Yum.
