I got to sleep in a bit the morning of Day 25. I still woke up at 6am, but it was nice to just lay there and think about nothing in particular.
The kids and I bought the Husband a foam roller for Christmas. This thing has become known as the “torture device” in our home. The first time I used it to “roll out” my IT band on my left side, I cried. Yes, literally cried. I screamed and cried. The Husband tried not to laugh but he did so while nodding, “I know, it hurts!” He was the first to yell while using it. In fact, it really makes you want to “let the expletives fly”.
It’s so bizarre that from so much pain comes positive results. When I used the torture device on day 25, I wasn’t in tears any longer. Yes, it still hurts, but it’s clearly improving. I’m not having as much pain in my IT band area during runs or other exercise. My plantar fasciitis is also improving. In addition to massaging my leg muscles, I use it on my back, which has helps tremendously with back pain.
