Seven years ago, I wrote a series on the subject of forgiveness. I’m trying not to read too much into the timing of this topic coming around again, but I can’t help but think there may be some significance. Hopefully God will reveal His thoughts. In the meantime, I decided to go back over the series from seven years ago to see if I’m really dealing with an issue of unforgiveness that’s cropping back up, or if it’s an issue of still distrusting someone I believe I’ve chosen to forgive. And no, I don’t believe them to be one in the same. I’m not saying I have this forgiveness thing “down”, but I know I’m a lot better at it now than I was back then.
Since I’m hashing back through this, I thought perhaps someone else might benefit from going through the series with me. I’ll re-post each of the three parts here at Brick by Brick over the next few days. Join me if you’d like. I’m certain the posts will be revised in some way, as I rarely leave old writing of mine untouched when given the opportunity to edit it.
The first question will be: “What is forgiveness?”
