I woke up refreshed the morning of Day 22! Even the Husband seems to be waking easier.
They say that the tortoise always wins the race, well, I certainly hope so because I was pretty slow during my pre-training run. I told myself just to settle into a nice easy pace and not to worry about the numbers. They’ll improve with time… as long as I don’t get injured. That’s exactly why I’m taking it easy. Busting out the gate has always hurt me, at least as an adult. I don’t want to be sidelined by something that’s preventable. I want to make it to the starting line!
I ignored the pace number on my watch and just listened for the alarm telling me when to run and when to walk. It was enjoyable. “Tortoise Pacing” also allows me time to think and pray, which is always beneficial.
