365 Raw: Day 19 with “Cold Sores”

I woke feeling yucky the morning of Day 19, and sporting a cold sore. I’m really not certain of the cause, but I typically get them if I’m stressed and/or if my stomach is torn up… which it was late last night… and yes, stress is increasing each day that another activity resumes. I think I’m a little freaked out about my barely 15 year old starting college classes tomorrow… yeah, I said fifteen. I had a headache last night… and cramps, so I took some ibuprofen, and then went to bed. I woke up with the cold sore – ugh.

blueberriesI think the bananas I’ve had lately haven’t been ripe enough, hence the upset stomach. Another concern was that perhaps I came into contact with some mold, the other day, that was in my box of oranges (I’m allergic to mold). We checked the ones we bought on Friday, no mold. Whatever the cause for my feeling yucky, salad and watermelon did not sound good tonight. Blueberries, on the other hand, sounded ok. I’m hopeful that my tummy settles soon and that this cold sore clears up quickly.

What I read: Genesis 22-24

What I ate:

  • Breakfast – Ten oranges juiced with electric citrus juicer
  • AM Snack – 2 bananas
  • Lunch – 8 bananas, blended with 8 oz water
  • Afternoon Snack – 5 Medjool Dates
  • Dinner – 24 oz blueberries

What I did: Nothing 🙂

Here are the notes I made regarding my symptoms throughout Day 19:

  • slowed digestion (gas, abdominal pain, bloating) – have some bloating, thank you lovely monthly
  • headaches
  • puffy hands, feet, and face
  • sinus congestion
  • dry/itchy eyes, skin, and scalp
  • acne – surprisingly clear for PMS week
  • aching muscles and muscle spasms
  • foggy brain
  • irritability
  • mood swings –
  • blood sugar fluctuations
  • fatigue – very tired today
  • unable to sleep well
  • unquenchable thirst
  • cravings – The nose is betraying me. The family had fries and chili tonight (it’s in the single digits out), and I wanted them. I think this is largely hormonal. Hoping it goes away when lovely monthly does.
  • chest pain

  1. For me its been 15 days at 100% low fat vegan and 1 day 100% raw. Finally starting to see progress on the scale. Since your scale post I haven’t been checking weekly but my clothes are fitting better so curiosity got the best of me. This lifestyle is getting easier by the day. The big test will be my upcoming travel (2 days a week for the next 4 weeks). Stocking up on bananas!

My pastor’s sermon was good yesterday on “My One Word” dealing with focus and accountability. My one word this year is Journey (thank you) with a focus this week on momentum. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, how much better it is running the race when you give yourself momentum with your daily actions. This Journey is helping me do that in several very important areas of my life! I appreciate your daily posts and look forward to a changed life! 🙂

    • That’s fantastic, Mark! I’m glad you’re seeing scale progress! I’m shrinking too, but I don’t know the number 🙂 Yes! Stock up on bananas! Are you going to try for raw while you’re traveling?

Love, love, love that passage of scripture! Isn’t the clarity of mind that comes from taking care of ourselves terrific?! May the Lord continue to bless your journey!
